Due to my expertise in working with OCD, I receive a lot of enquiries asking for support with this. Treating OCD in an evidence-based and ethical way is something I am extremely passionate about, and unfortunately it is very common for those without a good understanding of OCD to offer treatment for it, leading to extremely unhelpful results. Because of this, I have started to supervise other therapists in working with OCD and some of these therapists are now taking OCD-specific client referrals through myself. We all have very similar approaches to helping with this and then have different backgrounds and availability, in order to meet the needs of more people who need help. If you get in touch with me for help with OCD, I will arrange an initial call with you to get more information about what you need, then I will match you up with either myself or one of my associates to get some support that fits with what you are looking for. Take a look at the information below about the associate therapists who are here to help;
Rebecca Massey:
For as long as I can remember, I’ve seen mental health never being given the same importance as physical health, despite the two being deeply connected. This is why Psychology became my passion, working towards a BSc in the subject followed by a MSc in Clinical Psychology. I’ve worked in an NHS funded therapy service for 8 years, building up from a support worker role, to providing Low Intensity CBT and then training in High Intensity CBT. Over this time, I’ve worked with a wide range of OCD cases from mild to severe, among other disorders.
OCD is a disorder that I believe is still widely misunderstood by those who don’t have it. It’s really rewarding for me to help those with OCD break it down into smaller pieces, gain an awareness of how it has developed and what’s keeping it going so we can start achieving their goals together. I also have experience of helping people realise the links between their OCD symptoms and other issues they may have too, such as emetephobia, eating disorders and neurodivergent disorders like ADHD and Autism. I have the experience myself of being diagnosed with ADHD in adult life and understand that, for many, the realisation of underlying neurodivergence can be the final piece of the puzzle.
In my spare time you will catch me creating digital art, playing video games, listening to my favourite music or chilling with my cat and dog.

Kerry Alleyne:
As a BABCP accredited cognitive behavioural therapist with a special interest in OCD, I have seen firsthand the profound impact this disorder can have on individuals and their families. The anxiety can feel overwhelming, and OCD often has a way of gradually constricting one’s life. However, I firmly believe that with proper support and treatment, it’s entirely possible to make significant, lasting progress towards a life free from OCD’s grip.
My approach to therapy is rooted in creating a safe, compassionate environment where clients can confront their fears in a gradual, predictable manner. I understand that OCD can be confusing and often misunderstood, even by those closest to you. I’ve seen clients reclaim their lives and reach a point where OCD no longer dictates their choices. As your therapist, I strive to be an attentive listener who truly empathizes and understands, while also providing creative, engaging, and encouraging support. I employ evidence-based techniques, and we will work together to develop a treatment plan that moves at your pace, empowering you with the tools and confidence needed for long-term success.
My goal is to help you feel seen and understood as we navigate this journey together. I’m committed to providing the right support at the right time, adapting the approach as needed to ensure you feel confident and in control of your therapy process.

Claire Poyser:
Having lived experience of mental health difficulties, I found myself seeking more knowledge which lead me into studying Psychology at undergraduate and Post Graduate level. Through working as an Assistant Psychologist in Forensic and Autism services over 6 years I experienced a range of OCD presentations, including Obsessive Personality Disorder. These experiences gave me a good grounding for my curiosity around the condition. What lead into a passion for supporting people with OCD was the very individual nature of its development and symptoms. In acknowledging this, I take great care to gain a deep understanding of each individual and their relationship with OCD.
As I went on to train as a High Intensity CBT Therapist this curiosity has continued to develop. I have completed additional training in different treatment models and have developed my skill at identifying common co-occurring conditions, aiding in gaining that deep understanding and informing treatment options. I am naturally a warm and empathic therapist and take care to develop a solid relationship with my clients.
In my spare time I love getting out into the Peak district with my dog, and have been known to hit the karaoke on nights out with friends.

Laura Taylor:
I started working for the NHS in 2012, initially training as a General Nurse before embarking on a career change into mental health in 2018. From 2018 to 2024, I trained and worked in the NHS delivering low and high intensity CBT, often working with people experiencing OCD. In 2024, I began to specialise in treatment of OCD and also did additional training in EMDR which can be particularly helpful for trauma or experiences that have been difficult to process. Part of my passion to specialise in OCD was driven by seeing how poorly understood it is. This encouraged me to complete further training, especially relating to less visible, but very common features of OCD.
In the sessions, I love being able to give information to help make sense of the OCD experience, especially as there’s so much misinformation about OCD out there. I appreciate how intimidating it can be to start therapy and how important it is to feel comfortable speaking to someone about how you’re feeling. My approach is compassionate and respectful and I always try to ensure the sessions are relaxed yet productive. I love working with people and supporting them to make positive changes and feel very fortunate to be a part of their progress.
In my spare time, I spend a lot of time with my family and friends. I also love learning so listen to a lot of podcasts and read. To switch off, I enjoy seeing shows, watching sport and walking outdoors (in all weathers).
