ReImagine Therapy now has associate therapists to enable clients to be paired up with the therapist who is the best fit for them. Our associates will have a variety of backgrounds, specialisms and availability, to give clients the best chance to fit find a therapist who suits their needs and availability. Gillian Rayner

Qualifications and approach

Gill is a dual qualified general (adult) and mental health nurse, Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. She is accredited with the BABCP as a psychotherapist, trainer and supervisor. Gill works as an integrative Counsellor, Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, Compassion Focused therapist and mindfulness practitioner and trainer.

Client group and specialisms

Gill offers psychotherapy supervision and works with a variety of clients on many different issues. Some of these issues include, enhancing self care, low self esteem, perfectionism, self criticism, relationship difficulties, sexual abuse, complex trauma, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, Psychotic experiences, OCD and addiction issues of any type.


Gill has over 35 years’ experience working as a nurse and a psychotherapist in a variety of clinical settings from community, liaison psychiatry, student and staff services at Universities to forensic mental health hospitals. She has gained funding for many innovative research and teaching and learning projects over the years and is well published in the academic journals. Gill has also developed a new integrated model using compassion focused and cognitive behavioural therapy for people who self injure and is currently researching the effectiveness of this as guided self help or basis for psychotherapy.
